2nd Ray Love and Wisdom

2nd Ray, Love-Wisdom, blue colour.

To temper, mitigate and try to remedy the excess of "hyper-doing" manifested by the 1st ray, becoming somewhat materialistic, deviated and even at times abominable, the 2nd ray wanted to bring the principle of Love united with that of Wisdom . This Ray’s distortion occurred when Love separated from Wisdom, and instead of Love there followed: "sentimentalism," "goodism," and martyrdom in the name of a Love completely disconnected from Mother Earth's womb. The principle of Love, originating from the realm of the spirit, is a cosmological intelligence whose characteristics are very different from what we will later see as Loving, that is, Love in action through Wisdom which in turn derives from knowledge gained through direct experience, and subsequently this knowledge is felt consciously and sentiently through the heart center, the seat of the Self connected to one's Soul.

The song Teardrop by Massive Attack says it well: “Love love is a verb.” that is, “love, love is a Word”, not an abstract ideal/concept or mere mental secretion.

The second ray is one of the most delicate rays; a very large number of people are immersed in its distortion (self-denial, feelings of guilt for taking care of themselves "leaving others to themselves"), thus causing not only discomfort and unhappiness for themselves, but at the same time risking becoming, for example, pseudo-mothers/fathers who generate offspring fed on deep distortions of concepts and principles.

The misunderstanding that often occurs when talking about Love is the confusion between general, divine, absolute Love as cosmic intelligence, principle of a Cosmological spirit, versus the particular Love, felt individually by each soul towards something that can be a passion, a talent, an animal or a loved one, and calibrated and mediated by the Wise I/Self, to prevent it from becoming a love-idealism, love-idealisation, and love-martyrdom. In the name of love, grim acts are carried out (such as domestic violence or unconditional submission in the family and more) with cascades of pain, sorrow and internal fragmentation. In the name of Loving this cannot happen, as Loving is Love put on earth and put into action, inside and through a creature that in addition to the human appearance, is within themself a Human Being, meaning they are not inhumane or heartless . Heartlessness is when abominations, cruelty and brutality are committed. Inhumanity is when the Human potential, instead of being expressed, manifested and brought outside, remains or folds in on itself: in-volution.

Essentially, with Love, we mean a universal, intelligent entity that creates intelligent forms endowed with intelligence and the ability to evolve; this Intelligent Entity called Love manifests life systems in an intelligent and compassionate way: that is Creation as commonly understood. It emanates universal laws that are universally valid but relatively knowable, depending on the individual, the situation, the circumstances, the space, the time and therefore the various eras.

Let's now talk about one of the wrong interpretations of Love: adaptation. Let's take an example: a tree in the desert, in order to be there, in order not to perish, will adapt itself to the lack of water and strong temperature changes. This type of adaptation is too often instilled as a concept in people's heads, pushing them to bend and submit to situations that are not naturally suited to them. However, a tree cannot move and decide to change place, but a human creature can do so. How many times do we hear the phrase "you don't adapt" or "you lack adaptation"... we are therefore driven to demonstrate heroism to the detriment of ourselves (this is where the archetype of “the hero who supports various efforts” comes into play) violating the healthy limits of one's being which include the protection of action for conscious evolution through infinite change in perpetual evolution (meaning that situations can change and so can our actions). This cosmological spiritual entity called Love does not need a conscious and individuated Wise I/Self to be and act itself; it thinks but does not feel. Love implies thinking, conceiving and creating but not feeling on a particular and individual level.. it therefore has a universal sentience. Loving instead implies a self-conscious-soul that implements the transition from a universal Love to a particular Love. You can love nature, you can love human beings, and human beings in turn have various ways of loving in harmony with the infinite creativity of life, just think of how infinite melodies arise from a finite number of notes. Loving brings evolution, never involution, “de-humanization” or revolution. Loving is a set of actions: it is a synergy between:

-Feeling (longing towards the anima mundi and towards a

specific subject/theme/person/animal/living being)

-Thinking (ideas, principles, values)

-Will (the will power that unites and puts together the macro-universal, such as galaxies, up to micro i.e. individual will)

-Action: manifest action, which creates the manifestation.

The Love that becomes Loving adds the particular, individual feeling of specific and not macrocosmological universal creatures, thus generating the "children of sentience" which are the feelings: they, the feelings, prevent sentience from having a form of detachment and dissociation from sphere of the individual and the particular (e.g. the importance of a single flower).

Loving involves an emotional body that allows the experience of feeling. Feeling is composed of the purely feeling experience united with the mind, thus generating a thinking process that becomes sentient and defined. Feelings are like a barometer that allow the creature, an essence brought into existence, to understand whether they feel at ease or uneasiness. The pure external perception/sensation is therefore translated through the "internal-feeling" "software" which will outline how one feels and finds oneself in a certain situation (person, place...), or when faced with a certain circumstance, and what a subject or object evokes in themselves internally, drawing on an infinite range of shades and colours to characterise each different sensation. The pure Feeling put into action creates a "motion", a movement, which expresses itself outside from inside, therefore creating an E-motion. The second ray is one of the most delicate to treat. Just as Loving and loving each other have been persecuted throughout the ages (and this persecution still continues even though at different levels with different modalities...), so much so nowadays we go too far in actions that are a consequence of major limitations imposed in the past, preventing the legitimate free will of human beings. Preventing free will in the name of a certain truth damages terribly the free evolution of the human being towards what will then be true freedom. Getting together, both sentimentally and socially through affinity and not through wounds or unbridled idealism is a great goal for the human kind.

Uniting by affinity presupposes having first discovered and recognised oneself autonomously... having therefore felt and rediscovered one's soul, identified the various masks placed over the original wounds meant as protection, but thus limiting the original expression of one's monad/essence/spirit-soul, through the new current identity , lasting the time of the incarnation of the moment, therefore through the I. In this process of self-rediscovery of oneself, it will also be necessary to capture and understand which archetypal forces act in us, outside of our true Will (property of the conscious I) and which "negative" elementals have accompanied us since our childhood, or even since long before. Thinking of completely eliminating and eradicating the wounds and elementals that limit us by forcing us into suffocating cages and situations is devitalising and it’s a goal that is not entirely achievable. The aforementioned obstacles will never disappear completely, some trace will always remain in our causal body, and as long as we have that particular physical body their traces will also be in the memory of our cells; in reality though, the real aim is not to erase the wounds... but to decant them and transform them into forces of awareness, without them continuing to hinder us, preventing us from continuing freely towards our becoming. Every event experienced by a creature, however painful, sad, terrible, inhuman or heartless it may be/have been, is of great importance as it is testimony to a certain experience; it is a signal that helps us understand what is best to do and what is best not to do, what is most fruitful and what is instead harmful.

Memories remain in the memory of the soul, and consequently also in the unified field, and in the akashic memories of Creation, this does not mean that they are constantly actively present in the lived life of the individual.
Difficult experiences both lessons and initiations that serve the purpose of evolution. (And.. the more we evolve, by the way.. there can also be joyful initiations.)

Sometimes, however, the wounds get rekindled and give rise to the so-called "bodyguards": this mechanism is triggered as a defence when a situation reminds us of a similar previous one that ended badly or caused sorrow, suffering and misfortune. Because of the past trauma that this new circumstance reminds us of, we take a suspicious defensive attitude and are on alert, mindful of the risks documented in the "memory files" of the soul. However, it is good to notice when this saving alarm mechanism becomes counterproductive and harmful alarmism; having noticed that the circumstances are different, and/or the person with whom we are dealing is another/different and we ourselves have changed first, then we can choose whether to start a new experience, with the intentions to live it differently, because you need and want to experiment first-hand how things are now, or you can consciously choose a different experience. In this last case it will no longer be the wounds or the archetypes that decide for the creature carrying them away, but it will be the person himself, through one's individuality, made up of Spirit, Soul, Body and Self, undivided and united, to independently and freely choose how to proceed and where to go from now on, thus creating their own destiny.

“A person redeems himself when they see and know what myth they are enacting in their life by living,” said James Hillman.

So, in summary: Love-wisdom recognises where there is no Loving and, for love and in the name of Loving oneself (oneself and others), it does not persist in trying to make something work that by its nature at that moment does not have the natural requirements of good, necessary and satisfactory functioning. In the Name of Love, great atrocities can be committed: for Love (without Wisdom) of the homeland and one's own country, wars and bloody battles have been unleashed; out of exasperated love of life, without wisdom or compassion, therapeutic fury is triggered. Love as a principle is very different from incarnate Love which uses and appeals to the sentience and sensitivity of the soul, from which the Spirit is completely unaware by its nature.

Love without wisdom can manifest itself through an excess of care towards others by denying oneself, it is the hugs that tighten, suffocate and strangle, it is the nourishment that fills one's throat, stomach and liver and has no measure, it is preventing others from following their own path because you want them to be protected, saved and preserved. For the sake of denied freedom, free will is exercised in trying to disprove what had been imposed. Love -Wisdom includes making creatures experience the experience of "inexperience", a sacred experience that must be absolutely protected, as only by experiencing certain situations can one comprehend, and not just mentally understand, what would otherwise remain easily understandable abstract concepts by the intellect as notions, but far from a true CONSCIOUS comprehension.
Only when concepts become conscious, and not just aware, can they really be acted upon, naturally depending on what the individual consciousness has understood, made its own and acquired.

Excessive and constant concern such as: "It's not for you", "don't walk on the concrete curb", "don't touch this you'll hurt yourself", "don't touch that" are phrases with which parents often address their children moved by Anxiety, more than by true love.. or one could say by a shadow of Love imbued with fear. Trying to keep a creature (too) safe often turns into denying it the necessary experience that would let them gradually becoming aware of what all the given warnings are. Letting the child experience the experience of burning a finger (slightly and under supervision!), or of pricking himself, helps to de-demonise the fear and temptation at the same time, which would arise in him towards the object/situation indicated as dangerous, forbidden and therefore highly attractive. The distance imposed by certain experiences can trigger the opposing impulse of wanting to break and go beyond limits which, although naively put as protective, are felt as smothering, overbearing and compressing one's freedom to experience life. Freedom is the supreme power of being able to do. In order to act and live purely the Love Wisdom ray/frequency, it is necessary to have Heart, to make the heart act, and therefore to have courage. The concept of acting with the heart has been strongly distorted by confusing its origin and its profound meaning, but I have already written extensively about this in the initial part of this thesis (sentimentalism, goodism, etc)

In this regard the mystic and healer Stylianos Atteshlis, also known as “Daskalos” said: “The heart center is not simply the physical organ, but the spiritual center of the Human Being. Man made in the "image and likeness" (Genesis 1:26) of the Absolute Being with Reason and Love. Our most Real Self, our intimate Sanctuary in which the mystery of the union between the Divine and the worldly takes place. “Heart” therefore has an all-encompassing meaning. Heartfelt prayer is not only on an emotional and affective level but embraces the totality of the person. We should strive to achieve the purification of this center, because “God knows your hearts,” writes Luke (16:15).”

In shamanism the Heart has three levels: the romantic spirit/knight/lady, the creative genius, and deeper there’s the inner Master, as big as a thumb and resembling a laughing child. But we will talk about this and the romantic spirit in a separate blog.

Let's summarize some keywords of the 2nd ray:

  • Unconditional Love

  • Adaptation

  • Sentimentality

  • Emotional Body

  • Cosmic Intelligence

  • Conscious Evolution

  • Feeling in Action

  • Universal Laws

The Laws of Attachment and Love

Let's start with the concept of attachment, which is an integral part of the 2nd ray. Attachment can manifest both positively and negatively. Positive attachment is expressed through love, connection, and bonding, allowing for healthy relationships. Negative attachment, on the other hand, leads to dependency, possessiveness, and an inability to let go. The challenge is to cultivate positive attachment while transcending negative forms that hinder evolution.

Love, a key aspect of the 2nd ray, is often misunderstood. It doesn't imply accepting abuse or compromising one's well-being. Instead, it means fostering understanding, and recognising the inherent divinity in others and with compassion in regards of where they are in their evolutional process.
It involves discernment, knowing when to set boundaries, and understanding that love doesn't equate to enabling harmful behaviours.

Adaptation vs. Authenticity

The concept of adaptation is nuanced. While adaptability is a valuable trait, it's essential to balance it with authenticity. Humans are not trees confined to one location; they possess the ability to choose and change. Adaptation shouldn't lead to self-sacrifice or suppressing individuality. True adaptation involves conscious choices aligned with personal growth.

Feeling, Thinking, Willing, and Acting

The synergy of feeling, thinking, willing, and acting is vital in the realm of the 2nd ray. Loving involves a harmonious integration of these elements, each contributing to the creative process. Conscious Feeling is not just an emotional response but a profound felt sensing of both the universal world and individual world .Thinking brings clarity and understanding, while willing involves the conscious direction of energy. Acting is the manifestation of love in tangible, transformative ways.

The Emotional Body and Sentience

The emotional body plays a crucial role in the experience of love. It allows for the expression of feelings, translating external perceptions into internal sensations. Sentience, arising from the emotional body, creates motion or emotion. It's the dynamic force that propels individuals to engage with life, responding to stimuli with a rich tapestry of emotions. Emotions do not define you but “work” for you and tells you what and how you are going through a given situation.

Social and Sentimental Affinity

In the pursuit of unity through affinity, it's essential to first discover and embrace one's individuality. This involves recognizing the true self beyond masks and wounds. Joining with others based on affinity rather than wounds or unrealistic ideals promotes healthy social and sentimental connections. Autonomy and self-awareness lay the foundation for genuine unity.

Transformative Power of Wounds and Elementals

Addressing wounds, especially emotional and sexual ones, is an alchemical process. Becoming aware of ancient elementals present in your energetic field and confronting archetypal forces within yourself allows for conscious transformation. Wounds, like powerful seeds, have the potential to sprout into significant growth. The awakening of elementals offers opportunities for awareness and transformation, leading to a more liberated and evolved state.

For this Ray I wrote two stories that I put below.
First story:

Ginevra was a beautiful doe, everyone loved her for her splendor, grace and mastery of her. She was the guardian of the Forest. Those who had doubts or were going through dark times went to the Great Oak, where Ginevra resided. She was beautiful, her eyes wise, knowledgeable and kind. She knew how to say the right word at the right time and everyone was immensely grateful to her. She would be however, the last doe of this special lineage. Every time she gave some advice or dispensed some teaching, she also delivered seeds to be planted in the land of those who came to her, so that all or almost all of them would then have large trees, majestic and beautiful, under which to meditate, rest and seek for inspiration on how to live life in the best way possible. Lumino was a boy who lived outside the forest, and when he heard many stories about Ginevra he decided to go and visit her to get to know her. They formed a very deep and important relationship where Lumino had almost become a sort of treasurer: he had promised Ginevra that after his passing he would continue to spread her teachings to those who requested it. Years passed by and Ginevra announced to Lumino that she would soon be leaving. Lumino lost control, the pain caused by this thought was so great that he could not accept losing Ginevra... so when she gave the first signs of abandoning her body... Lumino attacked her with machines to keep her body alive, not understanding that in doing so he only imprisoned Ginevra's soul which, made prisoner, could not continue on her way, continuing to be close to him from the world beyond. Lumino carried within himself a great pain: he had lost his mother when he was little and death for him, was equivalent to being abandoned. As the days passed, however, he realised, as he looked at Ginevra that although her body was still held alive, she was no longer living through it. With one hand on his own heart, and one on Ginevra's heart, he cut off the machines that forced her body into a life of non-life, and blessing her and thanking her for all she had been and done, let her soul fly onward. , out of that loved and deeply thanked body for everything it had allowed her to do here on Earth.

Second story: Struggles for Love Beyond Differences

Once upon a time... in a country far and near, there was a beautiful stream with magical gurgling sounds; its fresh and sparkling water shone in the sunlight and quenched the thirst of all the inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest who wished to drink. On a rock almost completely covered with soft moss, Tinker Bell used to sit and wonder. She was a light and graceful fairy, known for her golden dust that lightened the spirits and hearts of those who were unwell: the wounded roe deer, the sick badger, the little bird desperate for the death of his partner. Tinker Bell went anywhere she was needed and she dispensed her care with gold dust. One day, sitting on her rock, she saw Troll. Troll, many ages ago, had been a somewhat goofy but very cute and kind Elf, with the passing of the eons full of wars, battles and fights he had become a Troll, made of rock and hard wood. He didn't even remember being an Elf; now his voice was thick and deep, he moved heavily, and his body has bumps here and there. In the Enchanted Forest there was a law: Fairies and Trolls had the prohibition to meeting or coming closer than 200 swallow flights. They were just too different and incompatible, according to The Fairy King. The King of the Trolls, in turn, preferred to stay away from that fairy world of grace and jingles, and kept his protégés well away so that they would not end up in the barbaric pit, an endless abyss where the Trolls would have ended up if they had not respected the Law. Tinker Bell recognised Troll as many ages ago they had been friends, when he was still an Elf, and she was distraught in seeing what he had become. Although the law forbade it, she flew above him, she could not accept that such an imposition did not allow contact between creatures of the same forest, and also.. Troll had been a great friend of hers, and she had in her heart many memories connected to him ; some beautiful and some heartbreaking, like all the times they were forced to stay apart and not being able to meet... so she began to scatter the gold dust... but Troll mistook Tinker Bell for a fly to be swatted away, and with broad and heavy movements he struck her with his stone hand, throwing her against a tree, leaving her stunned. Tinker Bell, at first didn't understand what was happening to her... and in disbelief at what had just happened, she returned to her rock, to rest under the sun listening to the sweet stream. Determined to be recognised, she tried numerous times to approach Troll, trying to help him with her gold dust; but not even once did he allow himself to be sprinkled with powder without inflicting a few blows on her, even not necessarily with intentional malice! Tinker Bell was increasingly dejected and desperate. Troll began to remember something... and all in all he felt less alone with that shiny little fly, as he called it, but his structure was now too much of stone and wood to allow Tinker Bell’s emanated and dispensed Grace and Loveliness to sprout and germinate in him.
Tinker Bell was very tired.. and sad.. she wanted to be with her friend of hers he once was but every time she tried.. she got more and more tired. She tried to give him and nourish him as much as she could… so much so that her small breasts had become giant and sore. The arm with which she spread the powder was weak and tired and she could hardly use it as well as she would have liked. So... Tinker Bell was left with only two options: to continue, hoping in the magic of transformation but risking her own life... or to decide to go along the path of the Elves and Fairies... a path as bright and light as she was, without this removing Troll from her heart, with whom she would perhaps meet again in the future, along her path, without however exhausting herself and altering her nature to be close to him. She therefore decided to go down the path that she felt was right for her... confident that it would take her to light and lively places, such, in fact, was her intimate nature.

I conclude this discussion of the Second Ray with a motto to repeat to oneself: “I am the first creature entrusted to me to take care of; by taking care of myself and loving myself I will be able to truly love others too; the love I put in myself is the love I can transmit to others."
